It's almost unfair to let Barton work with those guys.
It makes them sound like nine year old groms after a kiddy meal in McDonalds...

Every time a layback reentry gets an 8 Ted Robinson feels like doing the tour again.
On waves like that, area and volume, makes me think about Crammy - he would never sacrifice proper rail turn for points, would he ?

Won't the place be too wet for days?
Looks like it will be. Fcuk it's a mess out there. I think they should just bulldoze Lismore and start again somewhere higher.
Was talking to a Brazilian friend and she said
'it is amazing how we had all that rain and basically nothing happened. Back home you wouldn't get any notice, thousands of people would have their houses filled with mud or washed down the hill, and we wouldn't know how many people died because they don't count people in slums'

Most of the old houses on stilts were okay. New ones built on concrete slabs in flood prone areas haven't gone so well. God knows where they will dump all the piles of garbage.

Quite a few people in Lismore have raised their houses or had them built so the main floor was above the 74 flood markers. Garage on grade with 1st floor way up.
Did the flood exceed 74 level?

Re: princess margaret river pro
Nah about half a metre lower
Re: princess margaret river pro
Living on a house in stilts would suck fcckn balls, prob not as much as a flooded house but yeah, would be shit i reckon. Up and down the fcckn stairs evertime you wanna go in the garden

It has pros and cons. You end up with useful space under the house to park your car, store gear, have a workshop. Not for the unfit or elderly though.

Hate to be a stickler, the Margo Pro was replaced by the Margo Nugget about 3 odd years ago. I had a Pro, loved it, asked DHD if they could still make them but nah it's Nugget city. Margo is awesome.Brian Brainwave wrote:Hatchnam wrote:There's footage of Margo shredding bells in his wanderjahr film from about 15 years ago. not the old school guys but. Sunny, Occy, Egan, Hoy, Curren, Carroll etc ... they had the place wired. i remember seeing margo out there on a 6-8ft swell, mighta been when ganey was shooting pulse.
and margo at big bells was close to as good as it gets.
i heart margo and his use of big foamy boards.
you know a secret, hell good board?
the margo nugget by dhd. pretty much the only dhd i'd ever think about owning. I had one, 6'4" like 20 something wide and 2 3/4 thick. Used it for big beachies and burleigh in the late 90's when you really needed to paddle.
