Can someone update me on the questionable calls/heats so I can watch them?
Have missed most of the day.

The scoring was good. Some of the surf was good too.
21 heats in a day. That must be close to a WSL record.

Just watched the highlights.
How is it that they've managed to build that enormous structure, and the cameraman is still taking footage of the back of people's heads?!

Pretty fcuken much.

It was a great day. So much shit happened. You could write a book about just that eight hours or so.

Steph was robbed. she was faster, more critical and surfed the waves longer than carissa.

but jeez. watching Steph in a 3 girl heat ... her style is so above and beyond the other girls.

there were no dots that day. There are only dots if you are having to watch the webcast. Otherwise there is just all the shit which is happening.

christ how much better is BL than everyone else on that commentary staff? He does the simple things! Watches what is happening! Picks up things viewers can't see! Doesn't try to read the competitors' minds! Refuses to be drawn on the Good Old Days!

Tomtard caned me severely a couple of years ago for saying just that. I'd acknowledged how well everyone else had progressed, but they were, and remain, a fair way back imo

And in that ridiculous hippy move, Spirit of some fcuken hippy, the real standout in the whole thing was Steph. I think everyone was riding singles (?), but none looked better. Great style

Joel definitely connecting the dots. He seems more "interested " this year. Maybe his last tilt?

my god I cannot work out if the judges just made an incredibly astute call or Caio Ibelli was just scorched beyond human comprehension

anyway yeah 2014 Medina. Madness. There's a couple of stories from that day that I am saving for a book.
