yeah, sounds like the brief is a boat trip in the tropics for the boys with some waves.

I'm well aware of the Maldivian situation, but am only one of the few involved in decision making. Its an ageing crew, with a few old legends, a couple of has-beens and a handful of never has beens. Yeah its a boat trip for the boys, and as Donald Duck Dunn quite rightly said "if the shit fits wear it".

Maldives is amazing Womble, take no notice of Steve, a mate of mine just came back and it was 4-solid 6ft every day except two. He showed me some cracking footage and got plenty of uncrowded sessions.

Obvs doesnt get like the Ments blah blah blah but not everyone wants to crack their scull open and have half their skin ripped off, PNG would be ok.. but apparently has it's downsides like having to go through Port Moresby or getting tied to a tree whislt being threatened with a bow and arrow and then being anally raped. Maybe that's a positive for steve, I don't know.

Show me 10 mates over 35 who are all balls out chargers taking on solid Ments etc...

Steve is right about the crews that turn up to the Maldives, a friend of mind and his mates are complete kooks paid 6k a piece for a Maldives charter, it would have been embarrassing to watch them, saying that if the waves were over 3ft you'd just take their waves from them. They are going to New Guinea next year, lol.

Saying all that I'll go to both one day.

Seaman Stains paging Roger the cabin boy, report for duty ... your stern-gland is due for repacking.

Thinking of going next year with the wife but concerned about crowds. Read some pretty ordinary reviews. Want something land based with waves the wife can handle (sort of above beginner, but not quite intermediate). Anyone got first hand experience? Any other suggestions? Uncrowded waves are the priority.
