5'4" sweet potato style JD for up to head high. No chance of surfing it with my knee right now.

5'9" keel fish JD. Fave board ever, but I'm fussy with the waves I surf it in, best in fast breaking waves. Can't surf it right now with my knee.

7' carabine short longboard 5 fin. Great board in wait to a little overhead average beachies. Tolerates a user with a dodgy knee

7'4" JD. Super refined rails and foil and on the narrow side ( 14 3/4 nose, 21 mid, 14 tail ) Ideally needs a decent wave, and me to be way more surf fit than I am right now haha.

Wanted:
Bonzer egg for fkukking sure, round 7'
Could use an 8' longboard as a fitness builder that's gentle on my knee

Will get to the board pics later. But for now, some "why I have a quiver" pics. To cover anything from small weak windswells, to punchy aframes, to grinding reefs, to walling peelers, to thumping blustery triple overhead .

Just because you're wielding your "trusty hammer" it doesn't mean that everything around you is a nail. There exists a "spectrum".

6'4" JD, pics in the for sale thread although no longer for sale

6'6" webber mistress. Covers most conditions up to head and a half. About to be replaced with a SA Mollusc.

9'2" mal. Lot of tail rocker and quite thin so can be turned/carved if you stand on the tail. Actually goes really well at small Bower when taking off at surge.

Was looking at bonzer when Malcolm visits this year but can't justify it with the amount of water time I'm currently getting.

South maroubra at double overhead plus on a very solid ENE swell. The photo doesn't do it enough justice. For that I'd use either a high perf thruster shorty, or, the eight foot gun depending on how I wanted to surf the wave.

does that wall hold up?

It holds up well. And grinds like all Jesus. Again, the pic doesn't do it justice. It's a high energy, fast, raw and unfiltered swell.

The eight foot gun would be the most sensible choice, for the early paddle in, hold, rail drive and coverage you'd get. In conditions like that I'd rather turn less, and drive harder. Be more in control, than behind the eight ball.

Indeed but the gun makes lighter work of it. A shortboard would rev out and be struggling to stay in front.
