I was just browsing the guns in the Drifter store at Uluwatu. There were lots of guns by Pyzal, Brewer, McNeal, Lopez and others.

But what caught my eye was a 9'3 by Kimo Greene from Sand Island Surfboards. It was thick, guessing 3.75", flat deck, down rails and a full length rounded V bottom and finished in a beautiful glossed red.

This is me for a good while. 8'2" X 22 1/4 X 2 3/4 for 80% of the time. 7'4" X 21 X 2 1/2 for decent waves.

Love the look of your jd beery, beautiful outline. Looks like it can cover a lot of bases

I can't imagine a circumstance that would cause me to set aside that beautiful JD and pick up the other board.

Two mean boards, both 6'9", one a 10 channel Free Flight singly, the other a semi re vee Banksy quad (for now)

For very solid high quality waves of slightly different kinds. The 10 is for big fast open faced down the line surf, the Banksy is for heavy barrels. I'm gonna mess around with 'em in the next week and a half in shit waves, get a feel, then maybe go to Hawaii or somewhere like that

yeah it is, I haven't surfed either board yet, I don't wanna do some shitty snap on that 10 channel, that thing is for max effort hydroplane carving on big walls.

Ah I figure you need a box to hold fins in a board when it’s bigger but if you’re gonna have five of ‘em then you want them to be small boxes. It’s different in a bigger board ie 9’ plus when you just go with Futures. But when they’re clustered like this you don’t want the boxes changing the tail.

I don’t really like five fin boxes or quads generally but this board is pretty specific and Banksy was really like “Honest you’ll get a kick out of it as a quad” so what the hell.

Too much rocker and fine rails to work in weaker waves. I have surfed it at the farm at chest high but i was really just teaching Mrs. Beerfan. It went ok but with some push it is a beauty. Took the 8'2" out this morning. Great board too!

Just got my first hp quad that is designed as quad primarily over thruster.
Planning to be my go to small-medium wave shorty even though I've always surfed thrusters.
See how I go.

2nd hand but never surfed for $400.
5'10 - 19 1/8 - 2 7/16
Actually feels smaller under arm than the dimensions suggest.

canned the business idea. was going to get a few products put onto Amazon.

Seaxe is sensational. had it out up at saltwater a few weeks ago. getting waves from the end of the point to the beach... love it.
don't remember the last time I paddled that much.

got the quiver culled a fair bit these days. (although some would still consider it excessive)

But it currently sits at:
5'9 firewire machado midas (did a direct swap for the 5'5 Evo - i'll never go that short again). Love this thing. for those thinking about riding it as a straight twin... keep the trailer in your wetty, unless you're complete ripper you'll need it if there's anything more than 2ft around. IMO, the front fin placement is too far foward to be surfed as a straight twin. I tried it with MR'78 fins and it was way too loose in 3ft cronulla point.
5'9 twin fish (for sale) want to turn this into a Slater designs Gamma 5'10/11
5'10 dhd the twin (love this - just wish it was a firewire so it would last longer)
6'0 PCC roundtail IQ
6'1 PCC single fin
7'2 Firewire Seaxe
7'7 PCC single fin
9'0 surfboard warehouse epoxy mal

Quiver update 12months later.

5'9 x 21.25 x 2.5 keel fish (biggest bargain ever)
5'9 x 19 7/8 x 2 3/8 firewire midas 30.8L (best alrounder)
6’0 x 19.6 x 2.52 PCC shorty 31.3L (best quad I’ve ever ridden)
6’0 x 19 5/8 x 2 9/16 31.5L Firewire Tomo SKX (haven’t gelled with it)
6'1 x 20.5 x 2.5 PCC single fin 9” matte black (best present ever received in my life)
6’8 x 20 x 2 9/16 sunova step up (bought this on a moment of madness - don’t need it. If you want it for around 225 clams, gimme a buzz)
6’10 x 21 x 2 7/8 Jye Byrnes Crossbreed (best travel companion a man can have)
7’2 x 21 1/4 x 2 7/8 seaxe (performance midlength extraordinaire)
7’7 x 22 x 2.9 PCC single (favourite midlength ever)
9’0 long board (epoxy cheapo that gets a run once a year)

Pretty much a forever quiver.
My turn over of boards has significantly slowed down. I’m always on the hunt for something different, but it’s rare I see something I could actually justify buying. Only thing I could think of at the moment that would make this quiver better for me right now is a smaller fish.

5'7 x 20.5 twin
5'9 x 20 twin/thruster
6'0 x 20 quad/ thruster
6'1/5'11.5 x 19.75 quad
6'8 x 20.85 quad / twin

missing something in the 6'3-4 range for good waves, and something big and floaty for summer
