Re: Ebay Bargains thread
Too dumb to post but the boards I've taken have been.....first:
no board: lobbed there after leaving my Goodtime 6' fat pinnie in Sri Lanka and travelling with a legrope through India, Nepal, Thailand, etc. paddled out to Kuta Reef on a chewed up piece of poop that was left at the losman I was staying at. Started chatting to a guy out there and he lent me his 7' Dick Harvey pintail while I was there.
6'4" Maddog square tail with belly channels....my first thruster.
6'4" Wayne Deane HB Swallowtail.
Rabbidge 7' Fatboy.
Seriously fcuked 6'6" FireWire Dominator.
7' McTavish Carver Fish: went excellently.

Yeah, I sold mine. It was custom....aka having my name on it. Really annoyed I did. I had good waves at Sandon Point on it and surfed Ulu and Medewi on it in Bali. Very reliable and handled most size swells. He's a good shaper. I still ride one of his mals. It's a fcuking Rolls Royce. You can take off on anything....do a controlled side slip take off if it's steep and it just does it. Nose riding is just a joy.

Re: Ebay Bargains thread
Just sold a couple of boards off eBay and Gumtree. There are some complete idiots out there, I would go postal if I had to sell surfboards for a living. I have a new found respect for those much maligned sales people.

Re: Ebay Bargains thread
Had two goes to sell a board over a couple of years. First time this guy kept texting me to buy the fins. I kept knocking him back but he kept texting. Funny thing was I ended up selling it the second time without the fins for as much as I was going to sell it with the fins the first time. Still have the fins....not for sale.

I sold a desk on gumtree once, well when I say sold I advertised it for $20 - just wanted rid of it. Prob worth $150 new and it was mint condition. Some bloke messaged me about 20 times asking for hundreds of photos, loads of random dimensions etc. after all the back and forth he offered me $5 so I sent him a photo of it smashed up on the nature strip and told him to get fxucked.

Sellings board on gumtree is easy.
Get good pics. Rocker, rail line, bottom curves, plan shape, front and back etc. and don't overshoot the price, keep it comparitively cheap and it'll sell itself without all the back and forth tyre kicking.
Think about 3 or 4 days is the longest ever I've had to wait before selling, with either minimal or zero fuss.

Last board I sold on Gumtree was this smashed up old thing for $50... Some bloke drove up from south of wollingong for it, I pretty much tried to talk him out of it cos I felt bad about him coming all the way here and being dissapointed.
Ended up he was pretty stoked with it.. Dings n all.

Re: Ebay Bargains thread
When I advertised the Father In Law's car on Gummy a few days ago I only put one photo up.
Some guy asked me if I had any more pics.
My reply... "It's a plain white VE commodore mate, use your imagination"

It's not the guys that know what a surfboard is, it's the clowns that think they do. Flogged them but jeezus. Saying that I was selling boards for 400 plusHatchnam wrote:Sellings board on gumtree is easy.
