What about the ads wording: "perfect for waves up to 4' (a touch overhead)". WTF?

Don't you hate these time wasters. I hope he didn't have to drive too far. Did he bargain him down or just walk away?

Exactly. It was Tuflite.
Sort of a stretch quad type thing.
He recently bought a damaged quad for $50.
Great if dad feels like getting messy with repairs.
Our board area is currently like a surfboard hospital.
Just chucked a bunch of old busted boards at council throw out.
Now there's another.
He has inherented dads scrounging.

He wants to get another tuflite for back up.
He's been riding his old tuflite stretch board he got 6 or 7 years ago and it still goes good.

Al Merrick must be the flimsiest boards on the market.

As I understand it, they're made under licence by various manufacturers, so it'd be a bit of a luck dip on quality.

I've never understood why people get all moist about these overseas shapers/designers boards. Its a bit like buying a car with a Rolls Royce badge thats been made by Great Wall or Lada Niva. Especially here on the Goldie, where we're spoilt for choice when it comes to talented world class, home grown shapers.
