Well f**k me! Who could argue with science like that. And now M. Fanning (PhD) has performed his field study research to prove this hypothesis, where's my 4lt tin of black and white stripped paint and a roller? I'm thinking next phase though. Paint can wear off. How about getting your glasser to wrap alternate bands of regular and carbon fibre cloth on the next board? Maybe 32oz glass too for extra armoured protection from those GWS who come up for a nudge anyway?

Once, I stayed out at Tea Trees after everyone had gone in as night fell. I stayed out about 30 minutes longer after the last two others went in. I thought about sharks, but being from Sydney, I had no clue what kind of sharks inhabited the area. When I made my way back to my car on the long toe-stubbing track, the last two surfers, father and son I guessed, were still in the parking lot. When they saw me appear from the bush track to the parking area, they jumped in their car and left. It dawned on me that they were checking to see if I made it back, damn decent of them I thought.

I usually try and get a wave at snapper on the full moon but I think I might put that on ice till things settle down a bit.

Has anyone done a DIY job of putting the black stripes on the bottom of their board like this or is that an instant TOTY nomination?
I have a can of black spray paint in the garage and have been tempted to have a go.
