I was never wildly paranoid, but I did think about it a lot more a few years ago during the cluster.
Last 2-3 years I just don’t worry about it anymore, I figure it’s out of my control if I want to keep surfing, which I do, and now it can happen at Greenmount of all places.

Rainbow Bay used to be called Shark Bay in the old days. Name change was a marketing exercise. Byron was shark central as well.

....and post Ben Cropp blasting every grey nurse in the area with his Powerhead speargun back in the sixties and seventies. The Powerhead had a shotgun cartridge in the head. Point being the number of sharks regarded as normal for the last fifty years wasn't.

I reckon the shark that swam past me on the drone footage was bigger than wilko’s.
