Do you have any theories about how or why they seem to work?
I don't think there's enough evidence yet to say that they do work, tbh.i couldn't find any decent papers in a brief search.

I think it may affect their feeding behaviour (or avoiding suspended baits), so they're less likely to be recaptured, but not necessarily their site fidelity.
Maybe they weren't going to stick around anyway.

We didn't really have the data for the recapture rates in nets and 'dumb' drumlines, so maybe there's just a whole lot more sharks than we first thought.

June to November (broadly speaking).
Some were spotted this year at Port Mac as early as April
