My purpose in life is to be a marginal presence on here. And in life in general.

Just had a peek at the drumline trial results from areas other than FNC.

They must have been doing something really wrong not to catch a GWS at Stockton.

There's a cop on the wall blowing a siren. About 40 surfers at lighthouse ignoring him haha.
Nother 20-30 at Shelley.

Or is it Shearer arguing there is 58 not 60 and they are 1.9 metres not 2 metres?

Dorsal reported a 5.0m GW and a 4.3m tiger caught near Gracetown today. Sizey.

Yep, felt pretty fcuking raw over there Legion. I take my hat off to the locals. The commitment is phenomenal given the perceived and recorded risks. Sitting out there in big water with solid swell over dark reef with those risks does get the pulse racing pretty hard.

My little encounter with a juvenile white yesterday. Little too close for comfort.

I'll never forget my mates description of the attack on Brad Smith.

He lives in Gracetown and they were surfing Lefthanders. A few more surfers came out, so Brad and 3 others paddled over to Noises.

They were there for about 15 mins then three paddled in. A few minutes later there's a scream, my mate looked over to see a huge white mostly, out of the water at 45 degrees, with Brad clenched firmly in its jaws.

They were around his middle and Brad was hammering on its snout with his fists. There was a huge slash as it landed then Brad was just floating face down.

Everyone sprint paddled to shore. Was he still alive? Two groms paddled out and brought his body in. He had been disemboweled.

My mate has been out during three of the attacks near Gracetown.

Some big balls on those groms.

I've seen a lot of sharks in the surf.
Been bumped once in Indo.
Only places I've been scared enough to rapidly exit the water have been Spookies near Angourie, and Gracetown.

Couple of other places in WA where I haven't paddled out, including once with legion in the Margs region.
When we pulled up in the carpark there were a couple of ashen-faced dudes who'd just been buzzed by a minibus-sized white.

Yesterday's Qld budget upped the funding for the shark control program, BTW.
