hey shearer, I should be pm-ing this but the hell.

Has surfer behaviour changed much in the past few months around Ballina/Lennox? Are people less spooked or more spooked? Consistently less people surfing or are they beginning to relax about the possibility of shark encounter/attack?

What about you, have you changed your surfing habits in recent months as a result of the apparent cessation of attacks?

Shearer has started wearing one of those zebra wetsuits to confuse the sharks.

Shitload more surfers since shark nets, and a return to paddling out pre light dawnies and till dark evenings when it's decent.

It is well known that sharks do not like zebras.
And the proof is that there's never been a zebra taken by a shark.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

I want to answer this properly but I'm just walking out the door.
I still think there are some lingering changes as a result of the shark situation.
I'll try and elaborate later.

Note from the way out of date (only 59 from 92 tagged are listed) DPI website, that a number of fish tagged from Tuncurry to Ballina area last year, 'summered' in the east vic/bass strait area, and have or are making their way back up the coast.
Will history repeat????

Just read (OK, skimmed) a couple of interesting papers pouring cold water on the trophic cascade hypothesis (don't remove the big sharks because UNTOLD AWFUL THINGS WILL HAPPEN TO THE ECOSYSTEM), without which it makes it quite difficult to continue to grant special status to them

To tell the truth eggs are one thing I avoid buying when I’m grocery shopping. So you may say I’m an intermittent egg buyer who usually lets someone else buy them.

Yeah exactly gstq, as if there aren't a pile of ocean predictors already queued up to take over as boss ocean scavenger.

And the rest of the sharks have a few decent fear genes, unlike great whites: too fcukn curious and confident for their own good
