Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't large sharks have a high mercury and lead content ?

What would be the harm in adding a little extre lead ... say in the top of the head.?

Here at RealSurf we much prefer ill-conceived responses ...

They are removing the Northern NSW shark nets after the 6 months trial ends on June 13. I guess they figure there hasn't been any shark attacks so the nets obviously aren't needed.

I think they're doing what they do in Syd and elsewhere - taking them out through the whale season so there's less chance of killing whales (or maybe also, less chance of epic anti-shark-net propaganda moments featuring Greenpeace etc bravely rescuing baby humpbacks from terrible meshing and so forth)

The DPI seems happy with the trial, I imagine they will re-set the meshing later this year they way they do in Syd etc.
