Theyyyy'rrrre baaaaccckkkkkk...

Just spent a couple of hours in the water a few beaches north of there - crystal blue warm water, sun out, kilometres of offshore three foot peaks with people spread out evenly, fish everywhere.
Funny surf - seemed quite languid just floating around waiting for sets. Meandering ride back on the pushy at low tide.
Be paradise if it weren't for those darn men in the grey suits.

I had a fish - maybe a dart - about a foot long practically flick the nose of my board. Two of those I think cormorants having a ball fishing just beyond the break.steve shearer wrote:i was one beach north Merks.

Heard on ABC north coast radio this morning that a surfer saw a 15 foot great white leap completely out of the water out off Spooky Point near Yamba yesterday.

It can only be a matter of time before they're walking on land and shooting up the joint.
It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again

The fella from Mandura has apparently died in hospital. Poor bloke and family.

I hope there's a paddle out for him. It's a tight knit community around there.
I never met Ben, but his partner (I'm pretty sure its her) surfs a lot and is always happy and enthusiastic in the water.

Yeah, very tough.
Funny they didn't gut the shark to see if it had any remains inside like they did with the croc in Queensland.
Guy I work with knew the woman who got taken by the croc.

Cause there weren't any. Fellow surfers retrieved the bitten off leg and packed it in ice. Very sad,

If you're wondering how it was retrieved, I'm told it was still attached to the board by the leash.bomboraa wrote:Cause there weren't any. Fellow surfers retrieved the bitten off leg and packed it in ice. Very sad,
Think I'll move back to Sydney and the safety of netted beaches, safety that Sydney surfers take for granted
