I wonder if there is any correlation with this.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-11-24/g ... en/8051200

Perhaps reduced food offshore bringing them closer in?

The constant (over) farming of the ocean would have to be having a global effect on sharks imo

geezus, what are you on this early hour of a Friday arvo?
You should be down the beach, on the promenade, on your skatey, sprogs in tow, in your critical slide society T, maybe a beer unde the belt, knowing missuz is home ostensibly whipping up a friday feast but actually trolling homewares sites. ... but , ... hey, each to their own huh bru'?

I think you'd have to.
Actually, why would you have too? Why not just give it up, live with out fear.
Well. I'd have to.
If I didn't the fear would permeate everything I did from then on.
I had a couple of serious crashes in rally cars, fortunately without injury and kept at it.
Got T-boned in the driver's door in speedway once. Had to wait for my ribs to heal but went back as soon as I could.

I've gotta say, sharks scare the fcuk out of me. Hopefully I won't ever have to make the call.
I figure it's an age thing T.
We've amassed a swagful of unsoiled history, surfing doubtful locales, escaping beastly predators to within metres oftentimes, only to now let the imagination take hold and stiffle the free spirit and devil may care mindset of youth.
Just swimming out past Icebergs pool this morning, i could not detach from the feeling of apprehension, alone, amongst the flow in weed, that, maybe, on this particular day a bitey could venture in out of curiosity.

As far as Toot's assessment that there were three bites !...I doubt it.
It really just looks like the sweet beast just came up hard, took one, left a couple of extraneous calling cards in the process.

Looking thru parts of asia and the northern hem, there's areas where they say were once abundant with fish and now they're totally 100% baron.

You cant remove shit from the bottom of the food chain and expect things at the top not to start getting loose.

There's is a story on ABC that a massive factory ship catching slimys and other bait fish (big tonnages) along the east coast will be no more.
Think about what eats slimys, and what eats them, and extrapolate.

Whatevs the ABC story is and where, does it imply that this issue (and its likey, debatable causes) is being redressed by action?

I was reading an old article on beachgrit where they interviewed this cute marine biologist with epic warheads who studies great whites.
She had just found none in a place supposed to be teeming.
The reason? Orcas had killed one, ate it's liver and left the bleeding carcass on the ocean floor.

So I say, bang stick one of the cnuts, rip it's liver out and leave it to sink.

Even more eco friendly than nets!
Erase.

Like Hannibal Lecture, with Fava beans and a bottle of Chianti?
She's saying the Orcas ate the sharks liver and left the rest? What a fcuking bunch of nonsense.
