It was 5'8" and with 5 fins and six channels it hung in real well for a short board but was not at all skittish, all fins were the same size. Surfed it in almost perfect supertubes.

Most direct encounters are seven gills going the bump, but it's rich waters loaded with seals, dolphins and everything else on their collective menu. Often surf with big bust ups too close for comfort. The one good thing about having a decrepit shoulder is I no longer surf two particular spots requiring a long paddle across deep water. Last time I surfed one of them was with three other guys. Ocean was alive and suddenly went spooky quiet. Without realising, we'd huddled together. Next set reset us back to the task at hand. Later, I left them to it and paddled in. Half way across that deep water, I heard the surface break to my right. Turned my head just as a large piece of grey was submerging. Tried to convince myself it was a dolphin, but knew it wasn't. Froze, hoping to see the not dolphin resurface, but it didn't. Knew I couldn't stay there so paddled the next couple of hundred metres absolutely shitting myself. When I got to the beach, my fear was then for my mates still out there. Thankfully, the worst thing that happened to them was getting cleaned by an eight foot bomb set. Pro fishos are adament that the two most vulnerable groups in the water are ab divers and surfers. I know a couple of ab divers who think no differently. And then I think of the times I used to spend at Philip Island. Paddling in at dusk with returning penguins in sight of Seal Rocks meant I had very close encounters, but simply wasn't aware. It's a luck thing I reckon, because of you've surfed for a long time you've been very close, probably several times. Still, if I was in Steve's backyard right now, I think I'd want some protective measures in place which conflicts me quite a lot

On the phone so fcuk paragraphs
that's a great case of human fear. nothing more.

the reality is; how many people have been taken by whites around those reefs or on PI in the history of surfing? how many recently? compared to how many thousands of humans have surfed them over the last 5+ decades?!

human fear = deep water, feeling vulnerable blah blah blah ... something grey beside me. shitting myself, blah blah blah. again back to reality; you're still alive and nothing happened. the worst thing that happened out there that day, happened in only one place. inside your head.

The rational answer is to whack em with a Monica Lewinsky.

I'm calling this approach the all new and improved White Australia policy ... its The Great White Australia Policy.

From a little coffee/surf shop often frequented when in Freo.

on the forum last week on cw, phil myers said the caravan park at flatrock was max capacity of 30%. that joint is packed in school hols.
todays attack happened at spot x which is really flatrock more than sharpes beach, so things are gunna get a lot more grim for him.
rich that owns surfshop, used to be maddog shop, said he sells next to nothing post attacks. hes a straight shooter no need to doubt him.
until someone importants kid gets eaten fuck all is going to be done up there. I cringe everytime theres an attack there now, waiting for the name to come out. luckily no one I know has died but I know 2 guys attacked, brother of one killed , the old man of another, and my sis went to school with the lid rider who got bitten at northwall last year. im sick of it. go kill those whites lurking around. how many animals and fish die for consumption everyday? whats a dozen whites? whats a life worth? what about all the businesses going downhill fast? fark the greenies and the left.
use em for burly

You can't sit by and let people get killed, simple as that.
