I am finding the whole thing a bit weird

Was onsite for the first day of comp and last Saturday.

On the first day other than watching it on the giant screen there was little point been there as they were just specs at the Box.

The commentators seem to be frothing on the Box but while they were over there on the wednesday there were some seriously large waves out at Mainbreak.

While some were a bit fat some of the lefts were just freight train massive walls and it would of been great to throw the men out in "man versus ocean" stuff which was offshore rather than only moving them there when it turned side to onshore.

On the saturday watching Mainbreak was amazing as you got the live wave and then got to look over and watch the replay.

Watching the women's online yesterday I think the men would of either been able to pull in or get an earlier turn in so highly contestable so what are they waiting for. We had a late afternoon glass off yesterday further north so that was probably another great window fort the 2 hours they need.

They obviously want a finish at the Box but have walked away from great surf in the hope of getting it.

I guess we will know by the end of the week if they have made the right call.

On TV I prefer Main Break much more than the Box, if Owen Wrights 10 was the highlight its kinda like ok cool but gets a bit dull even with wipeouts, I guess I like turns to much.

If the waves are great why wait?? I can understand the spectacle of the box which I want to see but also know if it was up to me I would be hedging my bet as no one would complain with big main break.

Useless fcuken cnuts

I've been too busy at work to watch any of it until now. Website has the results up and links to Heat Analyser from the results AND from the top of the page, but when you try to get to heat analyser, there's nothing beyond the Quarters no matter which path you take. Surely, a competent professional could have that shit ready to go within minutes?????????

Also, I watched a grab of Rosie with Courtney on the news the other night. As per Braithy and Shearer's revelations, seems the WSL won't even let the major networks anywhere near their prize cattle. Do the surf mag journos get any closer?
