Yes please. If I can get the trip approved by the committee, I would much appreciate that.steve shearer wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 8:19 pmmornings are better for crowds.
it's a euro type vibe for that.

Re: Just general surfing stuff
Speaking of which, what's the surf like around the end of March down your way offy?
Thinking of heading to the banks.
What sort of wettie will I need?
We were planning a ski trip but the quarantine requirements are pretty restrictive.

Hey boo, Outer Banks will be considerably cooler than farther south down here. I'll be in a 3-2 or a spring suit.
3-2 or 4-3 for the Banks.
March can be mercurial, anything from strong nor'easters to gentle southerlies and just about everything in between.
If a big cold front blasts offshore, the Banks catch more of that north swell than we do.

You'll be in a springie?
Might have to drive a bit further.

Re: Just general surfing stuff
As I'm sure you know, the warm Gulf Stream veers sharply seaward at Cape Hatteras, it meets the cold Labrador Current coming down from the north. Water is significantly chillier there than here.
Outer Banks have more powerful surf though due to its far smaller continental shelf.

Looks grand Steve, perhaps in spring.
Annapolis is a pretty rad little sailing town, lots of hipster cafes and serious money.
I need a new wettie, wherever we go

Back zip or chest zip?
Re: Just general surfing stuff
I was actually thinking zipless.
I prefer chest zip on spring suits and back zip on steamers, but mainly because o'neill suits fit me best.

That was a hoot. Watched for a second time tonight. It's actually funnier the second time. It's so off the wall on the first viewing.
