it was deceptively good here. I woke up thinking the swell had dropped but it hadn't at all. Beautiful long lines.

yeah i scored some ankle deep grinding lefts with two other guys.

couldn't risk the wind holding out for more tide on the bank.

Surfed snapper through to greenmount early on ... wasn't all that crowded ... jagged a couple of nice little peelers. Was smallish.

Poignant and perceptive writing by Matt Warshaw on his blog about the former best surfer in California, Gard Chapin, and his step son, Miki Dora.

I'm liking the look of the new Hypto Krypto model quad-or-thruster option.

when set up as a quad in the double over head and grinding range - I reckon it would add a significant advantage over the standard thruster model

it's a good board. it's so easy to ride, it's like cheating.

A 6'0 quad / thruster fin option would be a pretty ideal 'cover all bases' option for my tassie trip in October.

But at the moment I'm liking the look of this from psillakis . The eclipse . Fairly similar.

One of the better surfers around here says exactly that about a Laser Zap

Every time I go to byron I'm seeing more and more brand new pop-outs being carried around by backpackers. I think there's at least one or two shops set-up in the main drag offering up these cheapies.
maybe the days of the recycled old brown dogs passing through many beginner hands are numbered.

shop right next to Deus , which sells $1500 boards selling brand new pop-outs for $300.

I laugh every time I go past.

tbh they look totally functional shapes.

most of the time you get what you pay for. I wouldn't buy a deus though.

i guess it doesn't matter what you ride when all you do is nosedive take-offs at the pass.
