The board I snapped was 5'11" x 18' 3/4 x 2' 5/16

26 cl

It was a Stacy Reaper model and felt like a weapon! Second hand.

Are these dims fairly standard? Cos I want something similar, any hot tips or if one of you has a decent board around that, hit me up.

I'm always too broke to get customs. One day.

I'm back, but moved on from JD.
I have been checking out the josh Dowling thread. Looks like he gets a lot of respect round abouts!

I've got 4 JDs up for sale. None of which will sell.
Are they these ones you have still?

Makes it easy to score good boards that you wanted to try. Pity is you have to keep them if they don't work for you.

Why?
Buy cheap 2ndhand then sell for the same price or a tiny bit less.

So true. See many really good boards at some of the ‘garage’ board shops around. Some sit for a long while.

Interestingly various Slater designs seem to pop up a bit.

Why?
There's a really broad range of surfboards available these days thanks to the big steps in manufacturing and the types of surfboard businesses that have evolved in their wake.

This means it has become easy to buy a good surfboard for a lot less and with a much higher degree of certainty than you could 20 years ago.

Shop around even a little bit and you can get hold of two DHDs for less than $500 each.

Shop around more and you can do considerably better than that.

In addition, thanks to the demographic expansions of recent years, there is a much wider range of surfers these days. This very much limits the market for any particular second hand board. For instance, I have a lot of very fantastic used boards right now, but they are useless for any surfer under 15, and most surfers over 15, and certainly all surfers over 50. Legion is clearly suffering from the same issue.

So: the combination of ease of purchase of new boards, and sheer demographics, has hamstrung the second hand board market.

What I meant was, in response to BP, if you've bought it cheap 2nd hand already, shouldn't be too hard to sell cheap at the same price or for a small hit.

I know what you're saying though, Nick.

I couldn't sell mine for a quarter of what they cost new. And they're good shapes. And they're new condition. And they're nigh on indestructibile.
Thank god they are all too small for me legion otherwise I might have been tempted as I really like his construction
