Passing thought.
The current WSL seems full of young, trained, coached, sober, heat-winning (at least QS), hyper-performers.

Kelly Slater. Ok, he’s not a contender.
The fact that, at 47, in 2 and bit events, in small waves, he has not been the loser in 4 heats seems almost as remarkable as many of his more storied achievements.

Shippies Comp was way more interesting than Keramas. Would have watched the whole 5 hours if it was the weekend.

kelly looked fantastic on a few waves yesterday when he was carving it up but then when he did a couple of airs he looked like an old fella getting out of bed in the morning all stiff and tender really made me feel for him.

Strider knows how to surf alright! Maybe now he's a bit chubby and off his game, but back in the day he was hot stuff for a year or two. You didn't know that Legion?

Strider might have even been in Performers 4 or 5 Direct to DVD!
