Melbourne and Sydney are both wavegarden.
But the Wales one was early tech.
Prototype if you like.

Re: Just general surfing stuff
I was going to take my son to Sydney, but tbh I think I might go to Tullamarine.
Can fly straight in from Ballina.
Summer only.
All the fresh wank around Sydney is a turn off for me- I think I prefer the grime and grit of the industrial aesthetic.

Going down to Tulla on Friday night for a few day sessions on Saturday with a mate.
We'd booked to go last November but had to postpone.
Kinda excited about it.

Go in early March, Steve.
Take him to a proper game of footy like Richmond, Carlton Rd 1 at the G.
Try some decent food.
Maybe luck into an ocean swell.

Sounds like a good plan Buddy.
How much to go watch a game at the G?

Sydney urbn surf an hour from me, will prob wait for a shit run of swell and book a double session, at $200 ish that will probably be enough for me.
My son has a couple sessions locked in through his boardriders.

Wouldn't they turn it up so they got a favourable review?

Re: Just general surfing stuff
You would think so. It just looked weaker than Melbourne. Though I think Kale’s impressions of the wave were honest and he was the one surfing them. He said he thought there some less abrupt takeoffs than Melb. Presumably to reduce the risk of injury.

Re: Just general surfing stuff
My guess is that they have saved money by under-speccing the wave generating system compared to Melbourne.
Making waves is incredibly energy intensive and any savings there would quickly compound over time and lead to gains in profitability.
Over time, I think that will be the trend.
Adult Learners with disposable income are the target market and they don't need a bigger wave and in fact (as Kale said) prefer smaller/weaker/easier waves, and will pay a premium for them.
