I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Jesus Steve, you need to move out of that shithole for a bit. Get amongst it.

Yeah fair point Steve, my comment was more aimed at you laughing every time you drive past those two shops... I mean come on, its not really that funny. Barrelled you may be getting but intellectually I fear you are becoming stunted. Time to move to the city and drink in the culture.

Ever heard of the Internet Loof?
It's amazing you can access any idea ever anywhere in the world.
You don't need to live in a crowded shithole anymore.

Nah Loofy we're just happy sitting on our front porches whittlin' and drinkin' moonshine just waiting for some city folk to come up the river so we can make 'em squeal like a pig.*

*With our cousin in our three man tent we bought off eBay of course.

Advancement in construction technology

http://www.lib-tech.com/surfing/technology/

on topic of construction, starting to see plenty of snapped or creased futureflex boards showing up on gumtree.

Why do you think these type of materials never caught on with the pros?

Well some have.

Kelly's always carboning up and rides a few eps/epoxies

Firewires still in use by a number of pros, notably Michel Bourez and Sally Fitz in the CT ranks

Quite a few guys regularly using epoxy resin in the Hydroflex system, plus special even-flex stringers (not wood)

Non-competitive pros are all over materials ranges (viz Craig Ando etc). The people competing at the top end need consistency and reliability in their boards' feel and they get that through familiarity with the materials, so if they're familiar with PU/PE they aren't gonna screw that up. They want the board to shut up and do what they tell it.

I went to have a look at a board advertised on Gumtree yesterday, just a cheapy to take to Bali soon because I need a throwaway (long story)
The board turned out to be too thin and narrow for me so I walked away. It was a strange construction though, felt hollow and super light. May have been EPS but it sure felt hollow.
Anyone have a clue what it might be? Very hard glass job, probably epoxy, shitty brown opaque finish which often hides a repaired snap but it looked very intact. Here's the ad while it lasts. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/doublevi ... 1080129250

those libtechs feel bullet proof Iggs.
But I've got a funny feeling the flex plattern/rate of return will feel like a surftech. Yuck.
