Fair play, maybe a small acknowledgement in the form of not swearing at them. I was feeling particularly emotional after reading that story. All better now.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

did you guys hear of mick campbells accident? knocked out, drowned, apparently dead, his girlfriend revived him. spent a week
in hospital. I also saw a photog, brazzo I think, slam the surf mags. micks girl, forget the name, apparently charges. was going as
hard as the guys in that ments swell a month ago. theres a pic of her pig dogging a huge round barrel. all the mags knocked the pics back.
old mate slammed em, claiming its all about tits and ass for the girls and they should be ashamed. pretty much hit nail on the head!

brendo, I never saw the pics of Tahlia, and she's been featured in a number of magazines and online in the past year, so I doubt very much whether any pics of her were "knocked back" by anyone. Maybe the photographer sent them to Brazilian mags/sites.

as photo Ed of a mag ... i never got the photos.

in saying that, we're not necessarily publishing new and fresh photos the way we used to on a monthly mag cycle. making 5 mags per year; we're chasing timeless editorial, both written and visual. so there is a chance even if sent to us, we might not have run it, but that's an editorial decision, not a tits and arse one.

Some fishermen fish. Others, well (snort!), they have a thirst for more...

yep. La Union, Luzon, South China sea surf.

pretty little waves.
Top spot for learners.

Lots of US marines there and hookers from the military base.

North Luzon is an amazing unexplored wave zone.

when I was there a communist insurgency called the NPA was active in the sierra madre and particularly in Ilocos Norte province, where we found some amazing surf.
as such, heavily armed military everywhere. heavily armed citizenry and militia.

probably not a safe place to be travelling in retrospect, except they liked christians and white people.

this is a communist insurgency , the jihadist insurgency is in the south, Mindanao. I did go there but never really spent time in the outlying villages like I did in the north.

The jihadists in the south love kidnapping whitey.

Yeah, seems to be escalating. Considering it borders both Malaysia and Indo it could turn into a major mess pretty quickly with Jihadists returning from ISIS.

I went to siargo island 22yrs ago when it only just hid the surf community radar. at night we were guarded by 2 armed guards. one with a 12 guage pump action shotty, the other a german ww2 mp40. there had been some kidnapping attempts apparently in the area. on mindao we went to a nightclub in surigao, there was a big sign saying leave all guns at the door!

I did a lot of really heavy drinking session in the Phillos with very heavily armed men. We'd rock up to these tiny villages or market towns in the middle of nowhere. Usually, they would call in the military and the commander would come in a jeep with a bunch of soldiers. If the commander could speak english we would explain to him we were looking for surf, otherwise he would find someone who could; the mayor or the schoolteacher.
Then they would work out where we would stay and then we'd get on the piss with them.

In the Phillos that means buying bottles of liquor; rum in the south, gin in the north. Then you sit in a circle and pass a shot glass around with the liquor drunk neat. Once that bottle goes, you drink another, and another until no-one can walk anymore. Then you sing. And some soldiers go off and start loosing off rounds from an m-16 or something.
