At peak tard season, the above two sentences could be taken as having a kinky sexual meaning kunj. If I wasn't so tarded I'd paste it in the tard thread. But I have no idea how to

Fiji and Trestles gone from the tour. Bali in. Only the wavepool in the US. Obviously the US is no longer a market.

And Quick/Rip/Bong still sponsor 5 of the 11 events while 4 events have NO lead sponsor (Marg river, Bali, tahiti, surf ranch). Doesn't say much for global coverage and advertising bucks flowing into this dynamic Olympic level sport.

You do wonder how this model continues to survive ???

Actually maybe that's the plan, focus on the pool. Get those fat ass Americans sitting in a stadium with gallon sized cokes and popcorn. Streamed live with celebrity appearances. Maybe Janet can slip a nip in between heats? Combined with the Grammies or something similarly tacky ?

I do think the US surf communities are way more into the pool than are any other big surf nations. Like, after all, it's an American achievement. There'll be two of those pools on US soil - the skunkworks one at Lemoore and the gussied up version in Florida - before there's one anywhere else. I know they're sniffing around in Japan, but I haven't heard boo about an Aussie Ranch. All you hear about here on that score is people wanting peanut investors and dubious plans for Wavegardens.

Too expensive, Fiji gov want about $5mil to host it hence why it was dropped. Only stop on tour which makes any cash is Rio....

You can see why the Fiji Government might not be enthused by a request to subsidise an event held at a small American owned resort cut off from where Fijians live.
