Several plausible theories put forward here. Only 5 minutes from home Rancho, It actually looked better in real life.
Found something else today anyway, disposable at $100

Kinda yuck. I like the Tuflite feel in small to mid sized "very clean" conditions (little or no wind and smooth unlayered faces). Then (and only then) I find some real positives, where they feel super responsive, fast and drivey.steve shearer wrote:those libtechs feel bullet proof Iggs.
But I've got a funny feeling the flex plattern/rate of return will feel like a surftech. Yuck.
In windy stormy conditions though they suck a dick. (( brrrrtttrttttrtttt...tttt... ))
Hard to dispute their durability though.

Yep. I think the Oh how dreadful stance gets laid on a bit thick considering their bulletproof qualities. Too durable for their own good as far as retail goes.

they do flex, but it's very stiff and snappy. they don't absorb or soften "with the wave". They tend to feel as though they're "placed upon the wave", and not a "part of" the wave.

That floaty feeling can be very nice on a big early cresting peak as you glide in. Hoping for some refined rocker and rail shape to transfer your glide into a rail turn.

I'd never own one as a step up or gun. Maybe for an "indo perfect" type wave it might be ok? But not for anything sizeable down this way. Too light and floaty and too stiff for hitting chop at speed.
Are any of these composite sandwich manufacturers (other than surftech/Tuflite) using "closed cell" (waterproof) blanks ?
I mean "locally available in retail" (regardless of where the manufacturing takes place) ?

Re: Just general surfing stuff
just by pure chance I spoke to a bloke involved in the company.
he intimated I could perhaps build one and write about it.
but I'm fcuking hopeless with wood and tools.
