Cheers mate. It would be a massive coincidence if there were two Keith Porters teaching IA in the Shire.ctd wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2018 3:08 pmthere was an Industrial technology Teacher Keith Porter at St John Bosco College until around 2016 (having been there for 'over 25 years'); then he moved to be Industry Partnerships Manager at La Salle Catholic College

Re: Just general surfing stuff
Moving house the other day packing boxes I came across a jar full of biros in the back of a bookcase right down on the bottom shelf. Funny my son can never find a pen when it's homework time. Anyway for sure we will have pens galore on this trip don't worry about that, I'm going full quiver and then some.
Re: Just general surfing stuff
Maybe Steve can do a pen review on the trip as well.

Pyzel is a fan of matching the stringer rocker as closely to the rail rocker as he can manage, he has a lot of faith in his boards' natural lines after many years of Pipe, Sunset etc. You get that with a lot of the good Hawaii shapers, Arakawa, Bushman, Rawson etc, rocker beats bottom shape.
Re: Just general surfing stuff
Ok more details on the rocker
Guessing no late tail lift

Long smooth, low, unbroken rocker curve extending back from front foot
V subtle but distinctive. I see it as being similar to the rocker curve on my 9 ft Brewer

It's seems subtle bottom contours are a feature of a good modern surfboard.
Ultimately a hero is a man who would argue with the gods, and so awakens devils to contest his vision.
Re: Just general surfing stuff
I'm fixing up a pretty nice 7'6" pintail thing, I've had it for years and years and only really now after about 10 years surfing down here I've come to the point where I might, might think about using it every now and then.
Anyway, I've put whatever FCS fins in (and yeah Braithy I agree the Futures system is brilliant!) from some stock stick I can find and they look piteously small. What's the word on fin size with a bigger board like this? Big waves equals big balls and fins?
