Thanks Nick. Appreciate it. Understand the narrower board is better for more response though I’m a broad as hell shouldered ape and have found going a bit wider adds some more base stability (I could probably go 19.25). Might even have a chat to Stuart Paterson about a custom
You saw my Rare Bird Iggs. I'm stoked with it. Paddles like a demon. Handles head high no problems. A 6'1 would have you around 33ltrs. I'm on a 5'10, but I picked up a 6'0 as well at their sale.

Yeah the rare bird looks nice for sure. But might go for something a bit narrower. and as thruster only (@ anyone - does the quad/thruster option work well interchangeably?)

ah I don't reckon. I know the five plug thing is kinda the go to for models in shops these days but five plugs tend to block up the tail flex. And the performance values are quite different, like if you want a quad get a quad, at that length it'll probably be a swallowtail anyway.

One of my boards has five boxes. I didn't like it as a quad. Thruster only for me.

I'm not sold on the idea.

I only have one board with a 5 fin setup, that green one linked above, but never really been tempted to try it as a thruster.

Nick and leej beat me.

Good. That’s what I figured also. And as for quads, I’ve had my stint on them and over them. Warp speed for beating down sections but not as much turning and less accuracy with turns vs thruster

I like them in summer boards for drive or for the point and shoot barrels where you don't turn, but generally prefer thruster for good waves and single for covering ground.

It does depend a lot where the rear fins are place tho', a lot are much nearer the rail than the stringer

Totes. I’ve had both the flatter wider type boards with the fins out on the rail, and the rockered board with the mckee set up . I preferred the latter. But even still prefer the feel of a thruster.

And yes Steve, the ghost looks the tits. Might go fondle

Jon Pyzel was staying just down the road a bit from me at a mates place earlier this year. I met him once and exchanged a few words - nice guy

Hey Toots I'm in Coffs smashing Motackle. Any surf around?
Motackle. I thought to myself, wow, that's a hip hop happening fishing store name, Mo' tackle.

But no, it's actually not a hip hop happening name.
Motackle stands for 'Mail Order Tackle', which is very dull, but makes the pedant in me think there should be zero over-the-counter sales allowed.
This whole Motackle thing is a bit of a downer.
