I think I just saw one of the biggest waves I've seen in Sydney. South Curly pool had the Pool Closed sign up but full of kids chain surfing. A legit 10 footer just rolled through and washed the kids from one end of the pool to the other. Two kids got washed over the side chain and into the rip in the corner. Cue screaming mum and a life guard rescue.

Over at Freshie, bloke fully sliced up on the rocks. Helicopter landing in the park attending to someone else.

I’ve never surfed DY but looks like there was no chance of getting near the jump spot at this tide?

Oh well, entertaining nonetheless.

Just watching a bit of the QS contest in the tub.
Saw a few of them warming up yesterday as well.
My surfing feels very inadequate compared to what the pros do at urbnsurf.
Just so dialled in.
It’s a hard wave to surf well I reckon and they just tear it apart.

John John is a freak. His heat made every one else look lame.

Yep, not bad…but John John got three like that.

How’s all the last minute wins today.

Jeez it was average. Be interesting to see how Steve viewed it.

They dogged it in Fiji and dogged it yesterday.

Just once, can they have a go in waves of consequence.

Yeah it seems pretty strange. Like who are they protecting? Are they worried someone is gonna die? Or are there some surfers who wield a bit of power and put the kybosh on riding the big heavy stuff?

Filipe already pulled out so wasn't like they had to worry about the champ anymore than they already do (or don't).

I don’t think we need complete death slabs but Pipe and Sunset should be more prominent.

Pro’s we’re doing that a few weeks ago at Pipe without the need for a comp.

Just tuned in to pipe contest.

Both the surf and commentary were atrocious.

Really think Slater should give it a rest. He’s been looking very stiff since his hip surgery. He can still position and take off but his turns are really slowing up.
