I’ve always been worried that the collar might slip down below my calf.
I’ve had a couple of incidents in largish surf where it has and Ivehad to arch my foot to hold it. Haven’t ever lost it yet and that’s been pretty extreme but I can see how it can happen. Helps if you have powerful carves :-D-:

Much safer than trying to hang onto a fcuking great heavy log if you wipe out.

They can get in the way if you are moving up and down a longboard.
Not really. Especially if it's above your calf.
Is that how you wear it Trev?
Yep. Have done for a few years now.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Funny how much speculation has centred around Owen and now Tyler. Coincidence?
Good point
It’s a fairly well known fact that Owen was on a coke bender for days before he didn’t actually paddle out at Pipe on the day that caused his brain injury.

What exactly is your point, Beans?

I gave up on pro surfing after Owen made his comeback from a brain injury apparently endured whilst surfing. When that clearly wasn’t the case.
He was gifted that Snapper win which was heralded as one of the greatest sporting comebacks ever. It was horseshit and I don’t really give a fuck about Tyler but Owen’s whole story was absolute bollocks.
The whole thing reeked of the AI situation when the whole surfing fraternity maintained that he died of dengue fever when everyone with a brain knew that it clearly wasn’t the case.
It’s all about selling boardshorts.

What’s the shit take Skip?

Pointing out that it’s a little hypocritical to her situations and upbringing yet not do anything to leave the pro surfing circus which she despises?

the take? ... same one that so many blokes have made (here and on the other sites) about her being 'this n that' ..(spoilt, bratty, entitled, narcissistic, etc... )

I do wonder if she hadn't come out as gay - was a het grrl - would the same responses have been made?

Aside from her sexual persuasion, a lot of the family stuff is something no one can speculate on, unless they're part of her family's network.

Personally? I had very little knowledge or interest in any of it, but from the podcast, I found her as articulate and well spoken a 20 something, who's sought counsel from a professional psych and has been on the path of self knowledge, as any might having sought it.

As far as despising the pro surfing circus? Who doesn;t?

Think about poor Ricky, he has to fashion a new calf leash from a weightlifting belt and an old clothesline.

Or unless you listen to the podcast, where she dumps it all out.
I wouldn't be to concerned about Skips opinion on this or pretty much anything he rants about around here. He's a bit lost and looking for answers in all the wrong places.

Skip please, can't see where anyone gives a shit about her sexual orientation.

Person (gender is irrelevant) gets to travel world, never has to get a real job and probably has it easier than the vast majority of population.
Person complains that she never got to study Shakespeare at school, spent too much time surfing and the tour is a problem.
Person could quit the tour and do other things than complain about your.

So just clarify, Channels. This is the comment I was eluding to. Skip articulated what I was referring to in the comment so I said,”My point exactly.”

Re: living the life of Riley on tour. It’s not uncommon for people to end up feeling like that. It’s a precarious existence. Agassi hated playing tennis at his peak.
