I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

The Point?

Yeah. Good there but our permit this month doesn't include the point.
And the predicted wind is on it now. Blown out to buggery.
We needed the wind to stay offshore until midday.

So strong up here I'm told they cancelled the Bulcock St markets.

Can't tie down the tents, only sandbags. Someone would have been killed.

 Definitely must be the source.
I still find it hard to see how two massive hacks on a big closeout gets a 9.

I've recently come up with this theory that the World Surf League's main purpose is to destroy any authenticity in surfing, make it a shit simulacrum for all of us. Maybe part of a larger project too, just starting to think about it.

I watch a bit of the WSL comps. I used to watch a lot of it. I have never given the WSL a moment’s thought when I go for a surf. It has zero impact on my surfing experience, unless they are partially responsible for crowded surf breaks.

I didn't say I think it's succeeding, just that that could be its main purpose.

I used to watch every heat about ten years ago. I now find it boring and only watch JJ’s heats. Maybe a few others.
I did watch Kelly lose yesterday and was rooting for him. It’s a sad way to go out. Even though he surfed OK in the heat I believe he should’ve retired after his Pipe win. He’s a massive dickhead IMO.

The Disneyland effect, Al. Jean Jean Frenchguy forsaw this.
In fact, I suspect it came to him while musing in the backseat of my Impala overlooking a heaving swell event under Ben Buckler back in June '84.
We'd picked him up from the airport, and he expressly asked to visit Bondi.
"How do you feel 'bout the death of the real?" he asked us pointedly.

It’s okay wallpaper if you are hanging around the house. A bit like having the cricket on.
