Surprised that place isn't super developed.
Fcuk mate, what do you think the locals do for a crust? I can tell ya, it isn't ping-pong.
They run that show, on their own terms, which terms are, do what we say and give us money or fcuk off.

I can't believe the filmer got away with it.

Like I said to boo earlier today, (he and the whole boo family are coming down south to Carolina from DC in the spring and so we're pen pals discussing international barbecue protocol and US Oz detente), so like I said to boo, my oldest son just flew down to Florida with two boards to meet with some solar company bigwigs (so it's a business trip), maybe do a radio interview, and then......get so pitted.
Anyway, hope he gets some of that. Nada here in Carolina.

Rip Curl seem to have invested a fair bit in that little marketing project! (I want those boardies Tom's wearing in the pictures!) Is it possible the company paid a location fee to the mayor of that town or something like that?

The other chap in the Curran vid, Buggs Arico, owns the surf resort they are staying at. I imagine he knows how to get stuff done.

Oh I just read that Tommy's mate Buggs is a Los Angeles-based real estate agent with a company called Arico & Associates. Man why do all our conversations these days end up back at real estate, lame!

Think how aboriginals feel. Living in a world for thousands and thousands of years without fcuking it up, and then, here comes guns germs and steel. And real estate agents.

Imagine spending three months cooped up with a Californian real estate agent! Tom was smart to block him out and play music 😂

Buggs owns a house there. He's a Palos Verdes rich guy who's been collecting boards for many years. Also Tom's latest enabler, been looking after him for a while off and on. Odd guy, a bit aspergers-y. I think that three months down there would have been way weirder than the actual movie.

You'd have to vaccinate yourself with a week of Beanpole beforehand to have any hope of survival.

You know more than me, but Buggs is credited with buying the bare block and building a surf resort on it. I assumed that was where they were staying.
