"well the Australian east coast is about to experience its best run of summer swell in at least a decade. Might actually run all the way to the new year. Everywhere will be lit up to its optimum at one point or other during this period."
Last 4 days.

Yep, optimum swell. Obviously, if you live in a place where you have to rely on the vagaries of sand banks, that’s really your problem.

I see more than one problem with the top photo.
and very much of the east coast is dependent on the vicissitudes of changing sand banks.

ha ha ha ha that's one surf spot shearer. there's been a LOT of good waves ridden in the past week and there'll be a LOT of good waves ridden in the next two weeks. By the end of December everyone's gonna be "wow there was a lot more surf this December than the last whenever".

Sandbanks.
Not my problem.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

well, we'll see.
Not sure where these good waves in the past week have been.
2 days of QLD points then a relentless onshore flow and knocked out sandbanks.
Northern NSW as far as Port Mac has been a wash-out.
Newcastle missed it, it didn't really impact south of Ulladulla.
pretty small window; Sydney northern beaches.
As far as the next swell cycle goes.......well we'll see.
It seems Sydney surfers really struggle understanding the impact of a storm swell and how it can knock out banks for months.
but yes, lets all go surf Moffies.
or......

Came straight up here camping.
There’s fun enough waves but pretty bad honestly.
Will give my mate’s foil a go at some stage as that seems to link the sections pretty well.
The sups are doing a lot better than longboards as well
