Lol. Come on GSTQ, you’re better than that. The old “you live 45 mins from the beach” routine. Only traditional surfing nationalist get to be like that. When you’re playing in the Vauxhall conference its an honour rub shoulders with those in the Premier league. Remember that please.godsavethequeen wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2020 6:10 amOh it’s not really a surf spot, just the view at the end of the gentle stroll from my house. How’s Lakemba working out for you, by the way? Two foot wind blown maroubra must feel even less appealing now that you’re 45 minutes away

….this was pushing off the wall not diving in.
...running out of breath underwater hasn’t been an issue. Not too bad for a 62 y/o who surfs irregularly.

He’s beside himself with jealousy. Poor thing.
Even a quick google image search of “Gower Peninsula Surf” then “Sydney Surf” is showcase enough without having to go into further details.

Dunno, I can see some pretty compelling reasons to be living in Wales right now.

Right well I’m off to bed. I’ll be keeping everything crossed for you Sydneyites that the anticipated 1-2ft howling cross-shore Premier League conditions arrive as forecast. Night night
Re: Just general surfing stuff
It’s the off season.
Though summer still offers an occasional south groundswell so it’s not game over yet.
Don’t worry, I’m sure once it’s pumping your local news source will make a big hullabaloo over it.

Photos of Wales remind me of westernport bay. You can get a photo of setups that look like perfect little waves, but the reality is slow and boring with long lulls.
Has its moments.

Well, here's the rub. There are guards at the entrance to Bendalong road off the highway, GUARDS, checking licences and rate notices so that if you are not a resident, YOU DON'T GET IN. All the holiday rental houses are empty. All the caravan parks are empty. The local shop is closed. There is nobody around. It's locals only and THE SURF IS FCUKING SHIT.

Chin up guys. Why not go for a nice scenic paddle while you wait for some swell to arrive? I’m sure something will be along in a month or two
Re: Just general surfing stuff
Well it’s been fun lately. Had the last two days off while it was rubbish, then looks epic mon onward for the foreseeable future.
Working 9-3 each day so will get plenty of hours in.

Yeah. I’ve got one of those alarm things rigged up so I get woken when iggy has a little nibble on one of my posts
Re: Just general surfing stuff
Good to see I’m keeping you awake.
And yes wales surf looks a lot like western port.
Hardly surprising seeing as it’s shadowed from the brunt of any real swell.

Be way more fun sliding those baby food peelers on a log rather than trying to do a turn, surely?
