When Slater is getting interviewed at an event, he's always keeping an eye on the ocean. He'll even stop talking as a good one comes though. I love it, the most surfed guy on the planet prefers to watch a good wave than speak during a live interview about himself.
The WSL panel sit at a desk with their back to the ocean for 25 minutes.

To have to sit through 25 minutes of bullshit on the morning show before you get the call is a fcuken insult to every surfer who is tuning in to the event.
Its a surf check. Make it one for everyone who isn't there.

That drives me nuts. It's so foolish and disengaging. They know what you want and they are going to try to spin it out with 1/2 an hour of twaddle first. It obviously works in many entertainment situations, but not this one. To deliberately spin it out for 1/2 an hour, before telling you it is not on, that is a crowd riot scenario. Luckily, we can just switch it off.
I should be able to go on to the WSL site now and easily observe today's Commissioner's call. That would keep me engaged with the contest. They don't let that happen so I don't look. It's a misguided communication strategy.

Its the very nature of the realsurf glitterati to whinge, whine and complain, It's what makes them happy. They never have a solution that is even slightly viable, but they if they do its usually pointed at bagging out the Brazza surf community/ current world champ or claiming that claiming or not claiming is ruining the Aussies chances. Meanwhile, the rules of comp have changed slightly since the 70's, its now three to the beach with and air reverse that takes the bacon.
