Welcome oldie. I have sore everything after too much surfing these days. Used to have fairly pronounced board bumps on my ribs.

You'll get plenty of surf ribs around this place.

I get "surf ribs" on the lower part of my sternum when I surf for the first time after a dry spell. Goes away if I surf regularly.
You gotta get out more oldie.

If I've not been surfing for a while I get sore ribs for the first couple of surfs, but if the waves are on I can't feel it, much.

Google "paddleair" for a solution if your surf ribs are unbearable. Looks interesting. Its a wetsuit or rashie with an inflatable bladder the protects the lower ribs. I reckon it would probably help with bad necks or shoulders too.
