You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Re: Pipe Masters
One year on...............Mick just lost his semi and AdeS won his semi so becomes the Braz world champion (in really crap waves for Pipeline). Considering his brothers passing this week it is pretty unbelievable that Mick could even surf the quarter and semi finals.
To me he has become one of the sport personalities of the year even if in "failure". Jarryd Hayne is the other as the NFL could be a dream too far for him this year. Both have shown more than expected poise under pressure............good luck to both them for next year.

Re: Pipe Masters
Could this be the trigger for both Mick and Kelly to retire? Are they both saying "is this how its going to be next year?".
No one can control the quality of the waves (and boy has this year been sh1t), but for Mick to go out like that, having been the better Pipe surfer in that heat against Medina, only to be beaten by an air in the shorebreak is a joke. What's next year? Let them battle it out on bodyboards if the conditions aren't great?
Yes I'm/we're biased, and not taking away from De Souza as he won fair and square under the circumstances and he seems like a great guy, but geez he had an easy run to the final compared to Mick. Irons, JOB, Slater, JJF, Slater (again), Medina, compared to taking on the lower half of the ladder. And people out there think the WSL favours Mick??
Also funny (yet not funny) how the whole points sharing saga from JBay actually came into play after all. Again, not De Souza's fault, but geez it's a murky look all over for the WSL.
And how many waves did we miss live because of those f***ing ads???!!! Yes, sponsor dollars are needed, but get your f***ing timing right!
Whinge over. Just bummed.
Well done Mick. You're a champ.

Re: Pipe Masters
Yeah, real shame we missed out on a fairytale ending for Mick. However he showed great poise under pressure and will definitely be near the top of Peter Fitzsimons Team of The Year list.
I presume that the Pipe draw is completely random? Say by means of lottery style ballot?
Agree that even if it is fair the WSL aren't looking good. Nick C does not agree with splitting the points but IMO it is fair to do so - one of those 2 in the JBay final would have won if not for that goddam shark!

Re: Pipe Masters
You are kidding me. An air at pipe for a world title???? Dark days indeed
no, Im not a surfer, Im just a garbage man".
Re: Pipe Masters
The barrels had disappeared. The surf was pretty junky. If barrels were a viable option, the aerial would not have been rated so highly, and it was a pretty extreme aerial.
