Swell jacked a bit... into the vortex:

On this day as I was tracking the previous wave down to the ledge that was sucking dry, I saw out of the corner of my eye, local Mega Samadhi totally airborne, I looked up, at first thinking he was doing a huge kickout to avoid a closeout section, to my amazement, he completed a 360 spin and somehow landed it on the wave face, making another 2-3 metes before losing it. Impressive commitment in heavy conditions.

This sequence is for Andy; I think frame number 5 is the one that he'll like best though.

Thanks James, glad someone appreciates them, I can watch that wave forever on a good day. Probably got another 30 or so good ones. They are not so cropped on a bigger monitor. Here's more:

Not so fussed rider:

Here's this dude again, I like his style, he would take off on the hyper critical waves and just make it through critical sections with lots of speed and skill,:

And this, a bit awkward. but if I could do it I wouldn't care how I looked:

Thanks Trev. Now for the hideous end section (there was a waterfall flowing off the reef platform up into the face after a big set, missed a pic of a previously wiped out surfer dropping down it, 6' drop, arms and legs everywhere, then the lip landing on top of him... ouch), keep high or die:

Rider is just out of frame on my monitor on the next 3 (I might get around to cropping him in):

Yeah, I'm trying to figure out what's going on. Trev and I have exchanged a few PMs, no solution ATM.

The pics are cropped when viewed on a monitor with a 4:3 aspect ratio but they appear fine when viewed on a monitor with a 16:9 (widescreen) aspect ratio.

Thanks petulance, that's saved me a lot of screwing around trying to identify the cause. I only have a laptop and a PC with a 4:3 monitor. There's just so much white space on the RHS (40%, 50% if you include the second column) that it seemed crazy to be cropping pics.

These pics aren't cropped any more for anyone who wants to see what they should have looked like. On a lot of them I tried to keep the surfer on the LHS of the frame and show the drama of the wave opening out in front of him on the RHS. There's some really good waves and surfers.

Probably get a few more next week of MM seriously slotted
