ITS ON
The moving finger writes and having writ moves on ... now all thy piety nor wit shall lure it back to cancel even half a line ... nor all thy tears wash out a single word of it.

quads aren't helping the natural footers (parko) getting pitted. They're moving to fast to get deep and and can't turn the end section.

Re: Teahupoo Contest
I would prefer it if they gave less points for the wave and more for the surfing.

Your lack of interest is palpable, Fong.
I'm actually most impressed with Kolohe's improvement.

Yep, case in point.Legion wrote:CJ got ripped off more than I've seen in a looong time.
But the judges do consistently do it.

Re: Teahupoo Contest
well the wave is a very big part of things at Teahupoo.
what the judges are giving points for is the situation the surfer puts himself into in relation to the wave. There's a huge gap between a crumbly 3'er and a solid 6'er at the location.
If that last wave of Ceej's was typical of a good set wave on the day, he might have scored an 8. But it wasn't, it was well below par in terms of a challenge, and thus the panel adjusted.
Heats which are decided by 1/100th of a point can always have gone either way, but someone's gonna lose, and Bede won the heat in the end based on him getting the best wave of the heat, which is a good call imo.

Re: Teahupoo Contest
fong why don't you follow Kai Otton, I mean he is a goofy and an Australian too
Medina's probably gonna win the contest but you wouldn't want to follow him, right?

I hope Bede didn't win based on getting the best wave of the heat.Nick Carroll wrote: ...and Bede won the heat in the end based on him getting the best wave of the heat, which is a good call imo.
I hope he won on the basis of getting the best combined 2 waves.

p.s. Ummm, they were of course tied on the combined 2 wave score and the best wave was the tiebreaker, but you know what I mean.

Re: Teahupoo Contest
Lot of claiming going on... particuarly the ausssies... Hedge and Kai Otton really giving it some. The Brazzos are very quiet in comparison.

Re: Teahupoo Contest
how was Kelly's Outset Claim. He claimed before he'd even got barrelled. Outrageous. Three point deduction I reckon.
and poor fongy! Mick got Teahupo'oed and is out. I was figuring trev would have said something about him not being a Queenslander by now but no. Anyway fong you might as well try to curry some favour with the Papara crew and back Michel now.
