That rock ledge shaped in an arrow head, just out from there was an epic dredging left-hander. You pretty much needed a boat to get to it, although you could get down there and paddle out, you had no way of getting back in when it was big.

The neighbour's cattle dog chased a wallaby off that cliff top and landed on the ledge. 90 meters straight down.

Raw and wild country I'll never forget and yearn to get back to.

Last one for today. Anyone remember the desal plant at tugun? Only cost us 200 odd million for not one drop of drinking water.

Well played Beattie, well played.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

From someone who works in the industry I can say that it has produced water (and continues to do so) and was absolutely critical in Brisbane avoiding a loss of drinking water during both the 2011 floods and after ex-TC Oswald in 2013.

Really? That's fantastic news.

Where's the desal plant now?

As someone who also works in the industry I can also confirm the desal plant is still operating in a reduced capacity and produces about 25 million litres per week. Have a look next time you fly in or out of cooly it is pretty hard to miss.

Yeah. It has to keep operating, even though we don't need the water, or it'll deteriorate.

the desal plant is located to the west of the runway, some fishheads know where the marine structures are loctaed and that area is fished regularly
