I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

When I was growing up, there were probably a dozen names of surfers you knew through Surfing World.
He was one of them.
Along with Bob Pike, Midget, The Gnat, Bobby Brown etc.
Teenagers are pretty impressionable. His name has always stuck in my mind.

On top of all that he was a decent bloke. I had the pleasure of meeting him three years ago. A bloke I had organised to meet with had said, do you want to meet Dave Jackman? So we wandered around around to his house and Dave welcomed us in. Although not well even then, he was generous with his time and showed me his shed full of moulds and various craft.
He hadn't been in the water for a while but spoke of his ideal wave: 20' and glassy.
Coming from just about anyone else you'd think they were spruiking, but not hearing this from Dave.

Sad news.

I reckon the further removed you are from what a journo is writing about the more reasonable it seems.
