Saw this yesterday. Great idea, but why would RedBull go to the trouble and expense of buying a bunch of Gerry Lopez hand shapes .....only to film the surfers in onshore slop?

i would hate to think how much it cost for each board ... but it is Redbull. Yep would have been nice to see the Lopez in good conditions

It's interesting seeing those guys restricted on those boards - they would learn more about board design than on a dozen different 6'1 thrusters.

In the opening sequence I saw a Tomo, MC, mayhem, almerick thrusters and one if those whacky looking meyerhoffer single fins.

I'm not quite there yet Daz!

Thinking about it for five mins... my nominations would be - not necessarily restricted to...

MR - world championship twin fins.
Michael Petersen - fang tail.
Terry Fitzgerald - winged pintail (with psychedelic airbrush, of course!)
Geoff McCoy - Cheyne Horan bumtail/starfin.
Col Smith - Channel bottom.
Bob McTavish - Vee bottom fantastic plastic machine.
George Greenough - spoon.
Simon Anderson - original Energy thruster.
Al Merrick - Curren hip squashtail/black beauty.

AND -

Colonel Sanders - Foamie!!!

LOL

What an awesome board was the Colonel Sanders foamie. It was the first surfcraft I rode a wave on and got me addicted to a buzz I still can't get enough of. Probably started a lot of us on a life long pursuit.
It would be pretty cool to see some of these Redbull surfers on one at a pitching reef break, even if the board may not survive.
