Parko's getting gifted a point and a half.
Slater surfed far better than Josh.
Julian Wilson looks less impressive or interesting each time I see him surf.
If John John landed that rodeo(is that what it is called?) they would've had to give him a 13. He should've saved that alley-oop, everything is getting judged against that instead of whoever he is surfing against.

At the moment im leaning toward Taj for a good finish or maybe the win.
Mick only just scraped through and he knows it, a good strong run through the finals will see him at the top of the pile.

I concur with the above complaints on some of the scores but it would appear (and I dont necccsesarily agree) that wave selection earns you points. And you have to get the biggest waves to EVER score a ten.

So ..... on a solid four to six foot day if a comptetitor got a twelve second barrel on a 2.5 foot inside runner it WOULDN'T be a ten?

That's kinda a rip off.

IMO 1.Slater won his round 4 heat , not easily , but won it nevertheless.
2. Parko is overscored - "world champ bonus???" - COMPLETELY UNFAIR.
3. Mick's kinda lucky

Really though would love to see them in 10-12ft monsters. Dare I say it - it's a little monotonous and boring. Of course I'd rather be there than here in hedge fund land atm.

Thank fcuking christ that is over.

Got my phone pick-pocketed watching state of origin last night. Got attacked by fire ants, lost part of my toenail on the reef yesterday, was up all night literally with atomic level bali belly.

I knew being the pathetic specimen of epidermis that I am, Bali would eat me up and spit me out.

I did go on the ride of a lifetime on a mates brand new Kawasaki dirt bike through the east coast into Kuta and back again. That rush was the equivalent of a set wave off the pack at pipe.
