Heats 'On Demand' are a total joke. Trying to catch up on Round 2 heats .. have to sit through hours of streamed footage. Nice one Oakley.
Aren't they supposed to be standardising the web experience? What gives?

from the round 2 heats I watched the waves have been pretty damn good.
too bad dane reynolds isn't there.

I'ma gonna go for Juan Juan vs Fanning in the final, if the draw permits it.

Temples @ Uluwatu has been hollow and fair size. But Keramas is a perfect "kodak" set up hence ...

I am sure all the punters surfing Bali atm are quite happy the show is @ Keramas

I thought the same thing.

A few days ago they were working like they normally do - pick your round and then pick your heat. All that seems to have been taken away and replaced with one long stream of all the action.

It is Indo so you'd expect some technical difficulties. Hopefully they fix it for next rounds.

It's amazing how quickly we get used to things. Heats on Demand has only been around for a year and half. Wasn't it first used at the code red Chopes event?

I was also wondering about what happened to that vertical line on the heats on demand - one you can move around the time line for rewinding and fast forwarding. The first few contests with HOD had a vertical line you used for navigation. Now all you can do is hit the score and play from there. (First world problem)

Over all the contest has been pretty great. Good surfing, decent commentary and good interviews. Can't wait until it starts firing.

Slater for the win. The freak was taking it to pieces in his last heat - still the most powerful surfer.

Yeah. That's the heat. I'm not comparing Slater to the young bloke though. I'm talking about the rest of the surfers in the contest.

I can give or take all the air reverses. JJF's alley-oop was amazing and if he can keep that up without dislocating his knee maybe he'll take the win. But just watching the gouges Slater pulled in his heat I'd be surprised if he doesn't take them further. It looks like he's just getting his eye in.

This contest could come down to BIG gouges. If it gets bigger I think the waves will be asking for it - more than a lofty air.

Don't forget the barrel. Saw a pic of 10-foot keramas. It's backdoor.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Tuesday & Thursday's swell sees a few backdoor moments.

Holy shit what a heat that was. Noticed braithwaite getting a bit of camera time in the background too.

Love round 4 with the priority. Heat 2 was ridiculous. Slater's double tube was technically flawless. And Josh Kerr's wife is definitely a ten.

The Bourez De Souza Patacchia heat was great but they were all fudging it at the end. How can you get a 9.something when you mess up the finish the ride? De Souza looks dangerous but the judges don't see it.

Parko JJF heat up now. Yew.

The judges have fucked it. They backed themselves into a corner on Joel's first score.

Parko has surfed well but there is no way that was a perfect heat.
