Don's interview on 2BL
This comes under the heading of complete and utter self-indulgence, but an email from the reporter today reminded me about an interview he did with me that aired last month. You can check the transcript out by going to: http://www.abc.net.au/worldtoday/conten ... 022275.htm Comments welcome, of course!

So where do and how do specialty surf shops, [like bodyboarders only type shop] they survive. Being a specialist at a certain angle can be good but it will limit your audience and potential sales. Sales inparticular that keep the day to day shop running are the most inportant no matter what line of product you`re selling.
I think these days a lot of small shops are opening up in these specialty avenues but wont be able to cope with too many lulls in sales, like winter or this summer.
Like this summer [ Sydney region ] that is , has had a woeful surfing period with next to no larger swells. Larger swells bring people out of their homes. And go surfing and spend more in surf shops for the gear the need to do that surf.
So without the surf to generate spin off sales, these specialty shops are going to find operating tuff when sales do really drop off.

hey don
What about a link on the front page to a voice recording file of your last report, it could be updated when you do new reports and archived for future listenings.
It could become part of a subscribers to Realsurf package.
