Mate who fishes for a living said the boat in pic does shark net, but reckons it's a massive mako rather than a tiger.

Thats a massive beast. Poor thing. They still have the nets up at DY too. Are you sure it's a Tiger? The upper lobe of it tail fin doesn't look long enough.

Yeah it's a serious issue there. They went from having no recorded attacks and then they put a meat processing plant that dumps its waste into the sea which brings Bulls and Tigers in. Which in turn cleared all the native reef sharks out. One side of the island is unrideable.

Doesn't even look like a mako tail to me. Could we get closer look, make the pic bigger?

Nah not a Mako . Could still possibly be Tiger by the look of it and the water is still warm enough around Sydney to keep them around. Surprisingly there has been a fair few turtles around atm and tigers eat em like jelly beans. Not sure if there is a link there? Possibly not.
That's one shark you don't want to be in the water with. A big hungry fukkink Tiger.

It's a shark. Look how fat that fcuker is! I bet it is old as fcuk and wandered in like trev in one of those Batmobiles, looking for a cheap feed, and got done.

Fcuk I was out there early this morning....

definite vibe with little, and not so little, flashes of silver all the time. You know when water moves around your feet sometimes as you're sitting and waiting and you wonder? that was happening all the time.
I was out there yesterday and today. After Braithy's Bull Shark story, I was already on edge.

I had a couple a big silver fish with black on their tail and fins swim around me for a while. Kept kicking my feet trying to get them to piss off. They just kept coming back. Maybe they were using me as a human shield. Bastards.

Actually, on second inspection I think it could be a tiger mullet.

It's a f^kcn whale. A Grooter Blubber Shark which is in fact a member of the whale family. Believe it or not the f^kkerz get even fatter than that.

It's another fcuking dead Shawk. They're popping up everywhere. See what you've done NC! Give credence to the imagination and it turns into reality. No doubt a close up would reveal the wings under water, the claws and talons must be scraping the boat.

Not a tiger, while freshly dead or still alive they are copper, cream, rusty brown. Also tail shape, and tail wrist, appears wrong shape. Then again maybe camera has distorted colours.
It has the electrc blue and white of a mako, and bottom tail lobe is right shape, can't see top tail lobe, but who knows. Definately not a tuna, says mate who's got bluefin tuna to 165kgs in Oz under his belt (six hour fight on standup spinning tackle). If it's a tuna it's three or four times bigger than biggest ever caught off Sydney (and they were all taken on the shelf, or places like The Peak, a LONG way from the beach)
By the way, DPI says 100 per cent the shark nets are gone from all Sydney beaches. So those bouys you are seeing are not shark net bouys, at least according to DPI.

Yeah, I didn't actually think it was a tuna.

I have no idea what it is.

Its tail area is too thick for a tiger as well as its top tail lope is nkt long enough. Its a bull or a mako or some massive whaler.
