Well, missed snapper but have now joined up again. Stinky Wes has over 900 points start. Given my previous history, that start is likely to grow into something more embarrassing.

It's my first time in this fantasy comp thing and it sure does make it more interesting, especially when your surfers are up against the Brazzos!

The Brazilians are far more likeable when you have them on your team. If I have de souza on my squad he seems like a fiery little underdog with a heart the size of pharlap, who rips the bag. When I drop him from my squad, he seems like an annoying little pygmy, with a style that reeks faecal matter.

Bells starts tomorrow, so get your team sorted if you haven't already. Anyone who missed snapper, doesn't matter as you get to drop 2 events.

I for one, expect to establish a commanding lead. Vanquishing the hollow threat that is Stenchy Wes.

I chose a team for the Roxy pro, missed the men's again.
This is all part of my Slateresque psyche-out strategy whereby I need the pressure to rise to the occasion.

I wasn't watching the heat draw closely enough. Three surfers going head to head in the first round is not a good start.

I haven't looked at the results yet. Can't actually remember my picks. I do remember not picking fanning though. I know how good he is at bells but I just have a thing. Maybe it's an emotional thing. It is a thing though. I know how good he is but i can't like his surfing even when i try. However, I did admire his surfing this comp. I even sent texts to friends on finals day saying fanning was unbeatable. He had that thing about him, like J Bay and Portugal last year where he kind of looked unbeatable from quarters on.

A bit like you, he's still a cnut though. The year is young and i don't give a shit. Can you say the same God?

The WSL fantasy is a different format to surfermag. It's much easier to pick a team cos it's set up different without a salary cap.

I knew I had to have fanning on my team for bells, but just couldn't afford him. Not without sacrificing other surfers, and then having to buy them back later at a much higher rate.

Like Toledo, I don't really want him on my margs team, but won't drop him cos he'll cost a fortune to buy back for Brazil.

Its all about the end game.

Tough call on who to pick for Margs. It can go from 15ft to 3ft in a matter of days. Hope it's big just for the spectacle.
