1 3/2 steamer
1 2mm long sleave springy
1 2mm short john
Plus rashies etc.
I don't generally go for more than one surf a day in winter so the cold/wet wettie issue isn't a problem for me. If I really want to I can use the spring suit. Generally though it's the steamer for winer/early spring, the spring suit for late autumn and late spring, and the short john or boardies the rest of the year.

2 x Steamers, a really old 3/2 Rip Curl Ultimate, bung zipper, perished rubber, dodgey seams, arse hanging out. Plus a 4/3 hooded, zipperless, fully sealed Rip Curl Elasto that I used to wear in the US with 7mm Booties and 5mm Mittens, I don't wear it much here, it is pretty restrictive and hot !!!!!
I generally go straight from boardies/rashie straight into the steamer, nothing in between. Bought a super thick rashie at Raglan a few years back, it's a little heavier when wet, but I can't kill the bastard, it will last forever.
I reckon rashies are one of the best surfing inventions ever, especially for white arsed buggers like me.

yes il confess, i did have my steamer with me and i did wear it for my surf before the barbie started. and i did have about 5-6 beers in me by the time of the paddle-out fer a little extra warmth. and thanks chook for the double black upon me getting out of the water - warmed me up a treat.bumbaclot wrote:CTT da BBQ was about the cut orf mate.....coupla weeks before and I'd still ave been in me boardies......dat was not a day or time to be without a bita protection....
