Al and Godsave, can I pencil you in for the Great, the stupendous the boner inducing Dollar Bill Vs Pretty Boy semi -final tonight?
Hard to script better semi final lineups.
Pretty boy just looks so ludicrously comfortable in heavy waves.
Parko got overscored. Kelly was so steep and late I thought he was going right.

it's not just you. Even the commentators didn't think it was worth it, don't think Kelly did either.

He was a world champion.
In the era When Barton was world champ, surfing was alien to dem folk. Plus he ain't no Jimmy Slade with his totes saturation in the world wide media.
He's not from Inuit country in Alaska.
Wasn't there pro comps in Newquay in the 80's? That would have been huge over there.

I see I'm going to have to go and stand in front of one of the Gowerlive.co.uk cams with today's paper to prove my pomminess.
ps, I've been surfing since 1985, so I've got a reasonable idea about who BL is.

well maybe not perfect in the strictest sense, there's still a fair few close-outs and long waits between good waves.

i have to go pick up my son from froggy school now so i'll miss the final, bit of a shame since i put in the hard yards staying up late at night through the early rounds. oh well, here's hoping the waves are better for it and dollar bill smashes the kunt!

I wonder if the ASP needs to award more points for first place..have a look at the ratings ladder:
1 / Joel 46200 - 5 3 2 9 2 2 3
2/ Kelly - 45450 -5 2 INJ 1 13 1 1
3/ Mick - 4300 13 1 3 3 1 3 13
seems crazy that Joel is in front with no wins to Kellys 3 wins and Micks 2.

That's pretty misleading though coz they get to drop their worst 2 results so Kelly is 1,1,1,2,5 and just ahead of Fanning. Parko might have the ratings lead but is next to no chance of winning the title unless he can finish with a couple of wins or if Slater and Fanning both bomb out early a couple of times each.

While I understand the ability to drop two scores is there to allow for unforeseen problems for competitors, I would rather the title be decided on a a full score of every event counting towards the title.
