nah not compost-able al, but goes great in a wood fire heater.
also kills weeds if left to melt on them.
makes candles
this dude recycles it into "new wax"

Mate what is it you're so keen to share with us all that wasn't covered in the epoxy wax thread?

Since you're having some difficulty grasping the purpose of this thread, as far as you're concerned, pretend I wanna put the c*nt on a wall.

How you ever followed instructions enough to study shark behavior without getting all four limbs bitten off is a f*ckin mystery to me.

Sounds like Prepsol or Turps is the go.

Thanks for all the suggestions..

I just googled it. Amazing what you can find if you do a google search.

In fact, if you search "wax tuflite" you get the Realsurf thread where you didn't pay any attention to people telling you how to wax a tuflite board.

Surfboard wax is paraffin wax, it melts at 60 something degrees. Use hot but not boiling water and scrape off with a loyalty card. Then rough up the surface a bit and wax away.

Well if Google said it then it must be true..

We've had everything suggested from applying regular unleaded to soapy water.

I think you're confusing "not paying attention" with "deciphering which information is correct".

The how to get wax to stick to my tufflite thread was no different.

Sorry mate, I forgot you learnt all there is to know about surfing when you were living at Ipswich and that epic day at Straddy when it was 6ft.

Plus, you better add Fong to the list for using petrol, old mate Dug for using boiling hot water and Surfir71 for ruining his board with the sun.

I think we can safely conclude that pretty much everyone's a complete kook except for you Iggs..

No wonder Slater wanted to put a wavepool in The Switch.

Entertaining reading.

My ten cents worth is use one of these:

http://picklewaxremover.com/pickle_wax_remover.html

I get rid of most of the wax using a regular wax comb, hit the board with the Pickle, then once more with a wax comb/scraper and boards are as clean as if they were brand new.

I could be wrong but the Pickle just seems to be a stocking filled with foam dust from a PU blank.

A mate got me one of these things and no way did I think it would work. I couldn't have been more wrong.

You can get them in Aus now I think - if not a few online stores have them.

anyways bumfluff, i reckon you should just give up wax all together and gorilla grip that tufflite board from nose to tail. it's for the best.
It's not "anyways", it's "anyway". You're not a teenager living in the U.S. are you? Perhaps you are, it wouldn't surprise me.

Believe me I've thought about gripping the whole thing. But "anyways" this problem is not as as big as these threads would make out. It's the sarcastic baiting and catastrophizing that makes this seem like the end of the world.

I can get sex wax to stick but I'm a big fan of having choice and if I had a choice, sex wax wouldn't be it.

Heck wax is the only thing holding you on the board. Why wouldn't you try and put the best stuff on there?

Actually the best thing is to get it covered in cork. Seriously. Tried it a few times, all my boards will have cork from now on

A good way of getting wax off after you have got the bulk of it off with a scraper/blade is to rub the rest off with a piece of shade cloth.

DUMB QUESTION ALERT

Iggs, I'm giving you 24hrs notice. I have a question that may be percieved as dumb and I'm giving you fair warning to vacate the premises or put me on ignore so my stupid doesn't rub off onto you.

Though I have a feeling curiosity is going to kill the cat

Sooooo

My dumb question is this:

I've been told it's not a good idea to mix wax brands.

Is this true?

Do any of you mix wax brands?

If I can put tropical sex wax on my epoxy board with palmers warm water on top - problem solved.

mix em up to your hearts content fluffy, no one will notice. You'll probably achieve a cocktail of wax smells too, which might be nice.

The best way to clean any board poly or epoxy is with foam dust from a shaping bay works better than anything and safe, offcourse you need to be able to get your hands on some first, a few handlefulls is enough.

First get what wax you can off with a wax comb, then grab a handfull of foam dust and rub it into your board, might sound crazy but works amazing takes off every single bit of wax and cleans your board right up.

My local shaper showed me when I was a grom and use to fix dings.
